If you're looking for a kid-friendly Easter treat, these adorable Chocolate Egg Nests are a must for your spread. The best part is, they only take 5 minutes to make, leaving you plenty of time to get on with other things! Little hands make good helpers for these and they're a huge hit with big people too :)
Ingredients for 12 nests:
4 large shredded wheat cereal 'cookies" (about 3.5 oz. / 100g)
7 oz. (200g) dark chocolate
1 bag of Cadbury's Mini Eggs, or any egg-shaped chocolate candy
Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Put the shredded wheat cereal in a bowl and crunch it up with your hands until it's evenly crumbled.
Melt the chocolate in the microwave at 30 second intervals until melted. Add the shredded wheat crumbs to the melted chocolate and combine until all the cereal is covered.
Using two teaspoons, take a heaped spoon of the mixture and place it on the parchment paper. Using the spoons, dig a little hollow into each nest and place two or three eggs in each hollow. When you've used up the mixture, leave to harden at room temperature or to speed it up, chill it in the fridge.
